Happy Fall Y'all!

I feel like I am always saying, 'we are coming up on my favorite season!' I think I just love the start of new seasons in general. Summer has come and gone and we are starting to transition into fall and I am so excited! I love the crisp air, the changing leaves, scarves, boots and (let's be honest) all things fall. In my opinion, there is no better way to gear up for a new season than by decorating!

I wanted to do something a little different for our door. I didn't want to make a wreath, but I still wanted it to be festive. When I start turning ideas over in my head, I always go to my workshop and look at items I have.

I have a stack of these small pallets at our house:

So, I thought, I could turn this over and make a sign out of it. Making this was actually really easy. I painted it and this time, I hand painted the lettering; however, this tutorial will show you how to achieve a similar look without hand painting. For me, distressed painted wood screams fall and it adds warmth to our door!

I already had flowers, but craft stores sell them by the bunches. I recommend using wired flowers. The great thing about wired flowers is that you can bend and shape them any way your heart desires. I cut individual stems off of the bunches, so that I could be more creative with placing them on the sign. Don't be afraid to use tacks to secure them!

Of course, I had to give our suspended shelf a fall makeover as well!

The colors just make me so happy! I am currently working on a pumpkin spice bread. I have not perfected it yet, but stay tuned! I will post a recipe shortly! Also, I may or may not have bought spiced candles already. Oh the joys of this season!

Happy Fall Y'all!
