Rainy Day Shabby Chic-ing

We have been in DESPERATE need of rain and we are finally seeing some! The other afternoon was a great day to spend in my workshop and work on some projects!

I love the rain so much!

My dad came to town not too long ago and he brought a few items with him! I love that my family supports me and I also love that he and his soon to be wife chose to drive from Arizona to bring me items to work on! If he isn't the World's #1 Dad, I don't know who is.

A few of the items he brought me were actually my great grandmother's (Dee Dee). She had impeccable taste and most of our family still uses many of her items! (In my Dad's carload were Dee Dee's revered $10,000 chairs- blog post to come shortly!) Anyway, my aunt, Barb, had these two antique tables on wheels that she loaded up with my Dad and now they are mine!

I said there were two and there were, but I only redid one of them. The reason is that both tables needed some serious work. One of them had an extreme wobble. The way these tables are constructed are nothing short of perfection. Each piece of wood is expertly crafted with joints and construction that are far beyond my skill set. Needless to say, I sold the one that was wobbly and worked on the other one which required work that was within my skill set (phew!)

I got to stripping and sanding and priming and painting and decided that I wanted to shabby chic and antique this table. So, that is exactly what I did. I have to tell you, doing work with the rain in the background is very enjoyable!

Item has been sold.

What is your favorite thing to do on rainy days?!
