The Half Chair

I was sitting in my backyard, which happens to be my boyfriend's mother's backyard at the moment, when I look over and see a half chair. Yes, a half chair. It had no back and no seat, so I knew that I had to do something with it. I asked permission and the half chair became mine. I did not take enough pictures before, so unfortunately, there is not much to see.

The only prep work this chair needed was a little wood filler... someone at one point decided to hammer a bunch of nails in it and then take them out? Sometimes, when I start to deconstruct a project, I cannot help but wonder, what were people thinking? So after a little wood filler and sanding, she was ready for paint.

I had this amazing mismatched green color that I picked up for a buck from the local hardware store and an awesome piece of fabric I had purchased at a fabric sale. I knew the two would go together well.

After sanding, I painted the chair, and created the seat using some foam, quilt batting and the fabric above. I was thrilled with the color combination. I think it would make a great bench or stool.

The finished project!
